FEBRUARY 2008 DATABASE CLASSES
SEARCHING AND ACCESSING HEALTH SCIENCE INFORMATION RESOURCES
Target Audience: Physicians, Researchers, Faculty, Staff and Students
Location: Computer Education Classrooms – Lyman Maynard Stowe Library
These classes will provide hands-on training and demonstrations by UCHC Reference Librarians. Each class will outline quick and efficient means of searching and managing citation information for the four databases listed below. There is no charge for these classes but enrollment is limited to UCHC personnel only. Online Training for New Ovid Web Interface
The current Ovid Web Gateway will be replaced by a new Ovid interface called OvidSP on February 4. This new OvidSP was designed for simplicity, featuring a natural language search. Although Ovid claims that the search interface is so intuitive that almost no training is necessary, the company is now offering Web-based training sessions to give users with various searching skills the opportunity to learn new features and navigation techniques.

StatRef Update
Beginning immediately, 6 more new book titles are available in StatRef. In addition, the simultaneous number of users has been increased to 5. This would allow more users to search the database at the same time. The 6 new titles, searchable from the library's online catalog and E-Books page, are listed below.
