Library and IT Dept. Roll Out Encrypted Laptops to First Year Medical and Dental Students
On August 20th and 21st, all incoming first year SOM and SODM students received their custom- imaged and fully encrypted laptops. Thanks go out to the Library and IT staff who helped to make this process run so smoothly!
Following the laptop distribution sessions, on Wednesday, August 26th, First Year students participated in Laptop Orientation sessions. These sessions gave students a “hands-on” look to the pre-loaded, sophisticated software on their laptops. Students learned about the Aperio Virtual Microscope program, SAIVIN system and E-Exam software, among other applications. Students were also learned about safe computing , printing best practices and service options. In addition, Blackboard orientation sessions were offered by CEC staff to the incoming MPH and PHD students. Welcome and Best of Luck to all of the UCHC 2009 students!
