FirstConsult: New iPhone/iPad App
A free iPhone/iPad FirstConsult App has just been released by Elsevier, provider of MDConsult/FirstConsult. As our library has an institutional subscription of the databases, all UCHC library users can use the free App that gives whenever, wherever access to First Consult, an online clinical information resource that delivers quick, trusted on-demand answers to clinical questions at the point-of-care.
Here is how to make it work on your iPhone/iPad:
1. From “App Store,” Download the free FirstConsult app into your device.
2. From your device, click on FirstConsult app and follow the instructions (if you do not have a username/password for MDConsult, create your own from the MDConsult page by going to http://library.uchc.edu, then to “Database” to “MDConsult.” The “Create Account” button is on the upper right-hand corner. Without this step, your FirstConsult only works for 60 days).
3. With your newly-created MDConsult username/password, login to FirstConsult from your device (medical topics download occurs automatically; you should budget 30 minutes for the initial data downloading.)
